Forensic LIMS features built for labs that
won't compromise on chain-of-custody

Immutable chain-of-custody, AI-generated court-ready reports, and full compliance tooling — every capability on this page is included on every TraceVault tier.

// Compliance & Audit

Court-defensible records, exported in the formats regulators accept

Tools for ASCLD/LAB audit cycles, ISO 17025 reviews, and the public records requests that follow an evidence release.

Immutable Chain-of-Custody

Every transfer is permanent and timestamped. Each custody entry is append-only, with full user and organization attribution. Corrections create new entries that point back to the original — never an overwrite.

📋

Court-Ready Audit Exports

ASCLD/LAB and ISO 17025-ready exports. Generate per-case or org-wide exports in JSON or PDF. Outputs are admissible in court discovery and structured for inspector review.

🏛

BAA & Multi-Site Compliance

Multi-tenant isolation and BAA on Enterprise. Hard tenant boundaries between agencies, with admin scope limited per-agency. A signed Business Associate Agreement is offered with the Enterprise tier.

// Chain-of-Custody

A forensic-grade custody log that holds up under cross-examination

Every action on a piece of evidence — transfer, correction, or location change — leaves a permanent, attributable record.

🔒

Append-Only Corrections

Corrections never overwrite history. Admin corrections append a new custody_log entry that references the original via corrected_entry_id and carries corrected_by_user_id plus correction_reason for full attribution.

Location Tracking & Transfers

Real-time location and handler visibility. A canonical current_location on every evidence item, with a location_update entry written to the custody log on every correction. Field officers and lab techs see the same source of truth.

Multi-Party Attribution

User-of-record on every action. Every custody entry, report, and login is attributed to (user, organization, timestamp). The login_activity log is immutable — auditors can reconstruct who logged in, when, and from where.

// Lab Workflow

Reports your analysts approve, not drafts they assemble from scratch

AI drafts grounded in custody records and lab notes — keep your org's house style with templates, then walk each case through a review gate before export.

AI-Generated Court Reports

One-click draft from custody records + lab notes. The Polsia AI proxy produces a report grounded in your evidence data, not a generic template. Drafts move through a case_reports status workflow: draft → approved → rejected. Report content is immutable once written.

📐

Custom Templates & Approval Workflow

Org-specific templates with a Draft → Approve → Export workflow. Each org keeps a report_templates set — system defaults plus per-org overrides. Reports carry versioned content and pass through an approval gate before export, so house style is enforced app-wide.

See every capability on a live, seeded dataset

The interactive sandbox has 10 pre-built cases, 28 evidence items, and over 100 custody log entries — transfer an item, run a report, and watch the chain-of-custody log update in real time.
